“ The fried food has excellent consistency. We had the cauliflower and the husband had the chicken fried steak. My green sauce beef enchiladas were super delicious and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice. But the sopapillas were so good, I can't even contain myself. They are giant, and we had to order six for the road. ”
“ What a sweet little place! I made a mistake, booking with the oasis in Springer, but decided to stay anyway at the Raton Oasis, as the lady at the desk inside the restaurant was so pleasant!! I was pleasantly surprised by the clean room, no smoke smells at all, and it was so quiet and peaceful. I would be lying if I gave it 5 stars, because 5 would have required over the top services (in my opinion) but I absolutely give it a solid 4 and hope no one sees the lack of the last star as a reason to not stay here!! It’s lovely, the people are lovely, breakfast in the restaurant was lovely. There was a moment in the night when I was a little spooked by the weirdly damaged curtain and the questions I had in my mind about what was BEHIND the motel (watched too many episodes of The Bates Motel)... but it was just my imagination! I was quite safe. Be sure you book the right place!! Oh golly, just take the 5th star!! The ladies all hugged me as I left. How does that NOT call for a 5th star?!? Lovely. ”
“ Updated in 2024: We had a burger special, the chicken and waffles and sopapillia. All were amazing! We always try to stop here on the way to Colorado from Texas. This year we had the stuffed sopapillia with red and green chili, a club, blt and a burger. Everything was prepared perfectly. The service was great. We have also loved the chicken fried steak in the past. Their soups are also amazing. ”
“ The chicken fried steak was excellent! 5 stars for that alone. The chicken fingers were good, not spectacular but a solid win for my teenage daughter. Hamburger was good also. Fries were great! Bean soup with chili is amazing too. It’s a bit of a dive as far as atmosphere but the service and food were great. ”
“ The Oasis had been in Raton for 70 years for a reason. This amazing little diner has been our go to stopping place in Raton for 20 years. We plan our trip to visit family in CO so we can make it in time for breakfast at the Oasis. My great aunt and uncle lived in Raton for over 65 years of their lives together and introduced us to it. If you haven't experienced a new Mexican green chili breakfast burrito from Oasis... you are missing out one of life's few remaining luxuries. This is comfort food at its finest. ”
